This season to an end on May 26, Sunday, with KKR hammering SRH to win their third title. SRH were able to post just 113 runs in the first innings and KKR made a mockery of the chase as they won the match by 8 wickets and with 9.3 overs to spare.
With that win, the season came to a close which saw many stars claim big accolades in the end. A couple of the main awards were already sealed during the course of the final as Virat Kohli claimed the Orange Cap after an incredible season with the bat. Kohli scored 741 runs in 15 matches with an average of 61.75. The Purple Cap went to Harshal Patel, who claimed 24 wickets in the season. SRH’s Nitish Kumar Reddy ended up with the Emerging Player of the season. He scored 303 runs and picked up 3 wickets as well. The Fair Play Award went to SRH while the Catch Of The Season went to KKR’s Ramandeep Singh, for his effort during the match against KKR.
The Most Valuable Player of the Season was Narine, who claimed 17 wickets and 488 runs for KKR this season. The best pitch and ground of the season went to the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

Drenched in emotion, Kolkata Knight Riders players highlighted the contributions of mentor Gautam Gambhir and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in moulding the team into a champion outfit that outclassed Sunrisers Hyderabad to lift its third IPL trophy here on Sunday.
The likes of Andre Russell and Harshit Rana found it tough to describe the feeling of being IPL champions, even as they praised Nayar.
KKR crushed Hyderabad by eight wickets in a completely one-sided final after bowling out their opponents for 113, the lowest ever total in an IPL title clash. This was KKR’s third IPL title.
Rinku Singh said, “My dream of seven years is complete. Finally I will lift the trophy. I am proud of my whole team and GG sir. It was God’s plan.”
